(too old to reply)

I have an 84" used John Deere snowblower lined up but can't find
any specs on it aywwhere (made in 70's). Need to know the weight.
Any help or links appreciated. My guess is 900 lbs which I could
put into my S-10 but much over 1,000 would be too heavy.

TIA

You wouldn't be guessing 900 lb because you want it and
can vindicate that much weight, would you? BG

Hehe, 900 was my first honest eyeball guess but I just took a
look at a more detailed picture showing what seems like heavy
gauge steel so I could be way off here. I'd also need the
dimensions but can't find a single spec sheet anywhere on the net.

Is this thing THAT old?

Actually the owner doesn't know when it was made, he got it used
as was. It does have hydraulic chute rotation and pitch, the
oldest ones didn't.

Dealers? Ha! Called 2 before posting: dry holes. Emailed
another half dozen too. Not a single response with the data.

There are several owners manuals on ebay for it. Even if you don't buy
one you might ask the seller to look and see if the weight is in it.
Jdparts.com does show the unit/parts but there are no weights.

Thanks, two dealers finally responded saying there was nothing on
file anymore but that they thought it would weigh what others do
i.e. some 1250 lbs and a request for a manual lookup produced
nothing. So I just went and brought it home. I will get one of
those manuals if only to figure out what is still original on it.
It has dual chute hydraulics and an impeller that looks DIY using
three +/-16" pieces of 3/8" thick u-channels, a real stone
crusher :-)
